6th-Sep-2009 11:04 pm - awesome week
awesome week

this week has been great. :) have been meeting up with the boy almost everyday, except tues and thur.

Monday:

Baby came to fetch me to his house where we had a very late lunch (at 4pm) and we watched Manchester United vs Arsenal match tgt. Thought it would be an exciting game between these two top teams (& even more so if i hadn't known the score) but it turned out to be otherwise. Was rather disappointed with Man Utd's performance and Arsenal could have won the game ( 2 -1) if not for the last goal where their defender kicked the ball in into their own goalpost and if they had made use of the many opportunities to score more goals.

Tuesday:

my usual stay-at-home and mugging for PBF session.

Wednesday:

Went to his house before we took a bus-train down to Chinatown. Waited rather long at the bus stop where not a single bus was in sight! & the bus was so crowded when we board the bus. Headed down to Chan Brothers to get back our deposit(or rather his dad's) since the trip was cancelled (due to shortage of people) and went to another travel agency to book for our trip. At first, we were still contemplating if we should go to a small agency cos it's rather unsafe but after much consideration and googling, we thought it should be all right and went ahead with our plans. so, KOREA, HERE WE COME! =) Excited, excited! totally can't wait for the 15th!

This is the first time that we would be travelling tgt, & it would be just the two of us! Hope the people who are going to the tour with us will be fun-going (pray and cross my fingers that we would not be surrounded by aunties and uncles). & i'm so anxious about taking an aeroplane for the second time in my life after 17 years!!!

Thursday:

Went to East Coast Park (ECP) to cycle with the SDC working gang (Doreen, Terence, Claudine, zy, Jason, Samuel) plus Sarah & Jasmine. We called ourselves the full part-timers of SDC and we might as well create a SDC-SIM group since 6 out of 7 of us are from SIM. :)

Met them at Clementi and had lunch at Mac before heading down to Bedok. Did i tell you how crazy i am? I went to top up my student ez-link card at lakeside and at bedok, while waiting for Sarah & Jasmine to arrive, i went to buy the adult ez-link card (seeing that there's no queue at the ticket office). 25 bucks gone, just like that. Luckily i managed to get the pretty red one! :)

we finally reached ecp at 3pm. Rent bikes at 6 bucks for one-for-one hour. Tied up my hair, put on my cap and off we go! The 8 of us cycled to Bedok jetty where we stopped by to look at the fishes in the sea and attempting to guess which airlines the planes were from. & we spent quite a bit of time trying to find a suitable spot to place the camera and getting everyone to take a group photo. I'm going to post it up here after i've received it from terence.

For the 2 hours ride, we managed to cycled till after OBS (not very sure if that's the place) before we turned back. But we still had half an hour to spare before we had to return the bike so we cycled towards the Mac direction. Sarah cycled really fast that we had to shout to get her to turn back cos she was too far away for us to chase her.

By 5, all of us were tired. We returned our bikes, went to Burger King to rest for a while and enjoyed the air con before we went to change. After which, Doreen and i headed home first while the rest of them went for dinner.

Friday:

Had PBF lesson from 12 -3pm. Did i tell anyone that my pbf lecturer has a splitting image of baby's mum? I got a shock of my life when i attended her first lesson the other time. They looked like they were two long lost twins sisters. As such, whenever i attend her lessons, I would put in the extra effort to pay more attention to her lectures (is as if your boyfriend's mum is keeping an eye on you, haha).

After which, Baby came to fetch me. We wanted to head down to Safra gym for a workout (and to explore the newly opened club as well) but we dilly-dallied till after 5pm, which was the peak hour. & i wasn't willing to fork out 15 bucks for a workout so we decided to go for a run near my housing estate instead.

& i felt so unfit! Baby had a knee operation and yet he could still run faster than me!

saturday:

Baby went to the gym in the morning to make up for yesterday before we drove down to Bugis. We had lunch at Uncle's Kitchen where baby ate the beansprouts (vegetables!) on the plate willingly for the first time, without picking them away. Then we went for a search hunt for the stuff we need for our trip. From Bugis Junction to Bugis Village To Illuma to OG.

In the end, he bought a black long sleeve shirt from village and i bought a watch (and so coincidentally that after i bought the watch, the watch that i wore out stopped working), towels and swimming costume.

This is my third swimming costume in my entire life. I still remembered that the first one i had was orange in colour, with blue polka dots and my second one was when i was in upper primary till now. Swimming costumes are very durable, huh. i bought mine at OG. it's blue in colour, from Waveline. Before this, i always thought that you can't try on swimming costumes due to hygene purpose, until i saw them pasting scotch tape on the private part area, for you-know-the- reason. The auntie was very unfriendly and very not helpful. She wasn't even in the least willing to answer my questions. Luckily, there was a 20% discount, if not i would have walked away.

In the evening, we caught The Proposal @ Filmgarde - a new cinema located at iluma. The movie was great! Both of us loved it. It's funny and sweet. Then we went to explore around iluma and we got a big discovery. We went up to the highest level and we were shivering on the way up. The temperature is like below 20 degree celsius. & there's a place where they are screening the english premier league on 3 big screens. Too bad the admission fee is a little steep - 20 for girls and 25 for guys, if not it would be a nice place to watch soccer and i'm sure the atmosphere would be good!

Then we settled our dinner at QQ noodles house, just outside bugis village. It was a random choice cos both of us had no idea what to eat. It's our first time there and we had their house specialty noodles with teh peng (for me) and chinese tea (for him). The food's nice and the price is cheap as well. Would be going there more often in the future.

After dinner, we had a slow walk back to Shaw Tower to get his car and we sent mummy and sister home! it's really sweet to see baby sending my family home.

Stayover at baby's house.

Bath-ed, he helped me to blow dry my hair, studied pbf for a little while while he bathed and use the internet and it was sweet dreams all the way till sunday morning.

Sunday:

was supposed to wake up for Mac's breakfast @ West Coast but in the end, we decided to sleep in a little while more cos both of us hadn't sleep well the night before.

Had a lazy sunday. Woke up at one, had lunch, and slacked all the way till dinner time. Met his sister for dinner at a kopitiam where we had roast meat and lotus soup for dinner. Both of us were actually rather surprised that his sister was willing to join us for dinner. While having dinner, his sister asked about how we met and how we got together.

On the journey back, he told his sister about our story and i, was trying to tease how unromantic her brother was. Haha.

& that's my awesome week!

post-script
: i'm so pissed off! i accidentally pressed a button and the whole entry was gone! Had to re-type everything all over again.

27th-Aug-2009 10:19 pm - I'll be there

I'll be there

You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love
I'll be there
I'll reach out my hand to you
I'll have faith in all you do
Just call my name
And I'll be there

I'll be there to comfort you
Build my world of dreams around you
I'm so glad I found you yeah
I'll be there with a love so strong
I'll be your strength
You know I'll keep holding on

Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter
Togetherness, well it's all I'm after
Just call my name and
I'll be there
I'll be there to protect you
With an unselfish love that respects you
Just call my name
And I'll be there

Chorus:
I'll be there to comfort you
Build my world of dreams around you
You know I'm so glad that I found you
I'll be there with a love so strong
I'll be your strength
You know I'll keep holding on

See, if you should ever find someone new
I know she better be good to you
'Cause if she doesn't then
I'll be there

Don't you know baby yeah yeah
I'll be there
I'll be there
Just call my name and
I'll be there

I'll be there, baby
You know I'll be there
Just call my name and
I'll be there
Just look over your shoulder
Just call my name and
I'll be there

caught this song over the radio and now it's stuck in my head. =)

26th-Aug-2009 03:42 pm - Results!
OH MY GOD!!

I've totally forgotten that i will be getting my bridging course results (econs and maths) tomorrow! & i'm so not prepared for it (especially maths)

No wonder this week seems to pass so slowly for me. It's only mid week and i really can't wait for this week to end!

Edited: 27 Aug 09
Hoping for the best tomorrow.Wish me luck! Cross my fingers and hope that i'll pass!

Just went to check my results and i got the shock of my life! Cos i went into the student's portal earlier in the afternoon and received a mail saying that results will be released after in the day.

After an hour later, i went in again, not expecting the results to come out so soon, i went to click the academic profile (just for fun) and saw the results appeared in front of me. I was totally unprepared! at that moment, i was thinking, 'why there's only one module? shouldn't there be two?' Then i realised that i had selected the course for BECONS, obviously only the econs results will appear in that portal.

& i just scared myself for nothing. Haha.

Anyway, i'm really happy about my results! Got an A for Econs and B+ for Maths, which was way beyond my expectations. Especially Maths, look like i was worried for nothing! haha. Going to work even harder for the coming 2 years. Hope i'll be able to maintain this standard.

Okay, back to studying!

23rd-Aug-2009 02:18 pm - Down on luck

Down on luck

i'm so pissed off right now! To think i was still happy and eager to be able to receive my student package earlier than i expected.

My sis told me that there was a parcel for me while i was brushing my teeth so i went to check it out.

To my disbelief, i checked, double-checked and triple-checked and realised that my subject guide for Principles of Banking & Finance was left out ! the most important subject guide that i need it for my studies now. How unlucky can i get? They could miss out the subject guides for financial reporting or auditing, i don't care! at least there isn't a need for these two subject guides now as lessons have not started yet.

But i'm already having my 3rd lessons for PBF now and i need the subject guide asap! =(

Going to call up the student helpdesk tomorrow to ask if they would be able to help me. If not, i will have to email to the person in london regarding my PBF subject guide! Pray hard that everything's going to go my way!

24/08: Just called up the student helpdesk and was told that i had to email the person in london regarding this matter. Like it hasn't pissed me off enough, my laptop kept getting hanged while i was trying to log in into the external student portal. After so much hassle, and finally able to access into my email, i wrote an email to them and i didn't even know if the email was even sent out or not...
